Chuck Crawford

 

Position: Varsity Head Coach

Entering his third season at the helm of the program, Crawford guided the 2007 North Forsyth team to a 26-20 (.565) record, a 188% winning increase from the 2006 campaign and the programs first winning season in six years. 2007 highlights include the first tournament title in six years and a win over the 5th ranked team in the state in 5-AAAAA.

 

Prior to Crawford's arrival the program suffered seasons of 1-16 (.059) in 2004 and 1-18 (.053) in 2005. In his first season the team experienced minor success finishing 9-21.

 

Crawford has coached in both the high school and club ranks. He served as the head coach at Centennial High School and coached current University of Georgia outside hitter Maria Taylor who was selected as a member of the 2008 USA National Team A2 roster. North Forsyth High School from 2006-present and is the head coach of the A5 Mizuno Volleyball Club 17 Team. He also is a USA Volleyball CAP I and Impact Certified Coach as well as assisting with USA Volleyball High Performance Team tryouts.

 

Additional players Crawford has coached who now play at the collegiate level include 2008 Moe Smith (Anderson University, SC) who is the first player to sign a volleyball scholarship in the history of the North Forsyth volleyball program. As well as Katie Ingraham and Megan Fitzgerald who both played at Valdosta State University.

 

During the summer Crawford serves as a head camp coach for The University of Florida, The University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill and The University of Tennessee.

 

In addition to coaching volleyball, Crawford was the assistant coach for the 2004 5-AAAAA State Champion Baseball Milton Eagles. Crawford worked primarily with the catchers. Players Crawford coached went on to play for The University of Georgia, Furman University, and Berry College.

 

A native of Middletown, Ohio, Crawford began his volleyball career at Miami University of Ohio, where he was a middle hitter for the men's volleyball team. He earned his degree in education in 2001.

 

Crawford, 33, is married to the former Lori Anne Alexander of Roswell, Georgia. They reside in Cumming, Georgia with their son Carson and dogs Tucker and Marley.

 

 

 

Carissa Bull

 

Position: JV Head Coach

Coach Bull grew up in Port St. Lucie , Florida where she got her volleyball start playing pick up games on the beach.

 

She graduated from Newberry College in South Carolina with a BS in Elementary Education and a minor in History. Coach Bull was a four year starter in two sports at Newberry where she was a right side and outside hitter in volleyball and centerfielder in softball.

 

Throughout her sports career she has been fortunate enough to be recognized with such honors as:

•  Induction into the St. Lucie County, Florida Athletic Hall of Fame as Women's Collegiate Athlete of the Year,

•  Newberry College Billy Douglas Award for Outstanding Freshman Athlete,

•  1996 Olympic Escort Runner / Torchbearer

•  All American Collegiate Scholar,

•  South Atlantic Conference Honor Roll all four years in college,

•  Member of the NCAA Division II volleyball team with the highest GPA in all of Division II volleyball for three years.

 

Coach Bull has taught 5 th grade for the past seven years in Gwinnett and Forsyth Counties . Along with teaching, she has coached recreational and all-star 12 and under softball teams in Florida .

 

Coach Bull resides in Forsyth County with her husband, Brian, her son, Braylan, and Boykin Spaniel, Maren.
